Rock Of Ages Granite Quarry

October 12th, 2007

While on my vacation in Vermont, we stopped at Rock of Ages granite quarry. We got to tour the quarries, and watch them work as they were creating the memorials.

Check out photos in the gallery from the quarry.

Pretty impressive, Phil! And the colour of that water is amazing. I’ve seen quarries here too but they were unused for quite some time and the water always gets that incredible green colour. Wow!

Yeah, the filled ones are the old quarries. They’ve been mining I guess is it, the area for about 47 years, and at the rate they are going, and the amount of granite in the area, they can go for several more centuries.

I’d like to go back again in 10 years or so, and see how much it has changed.
